Sort of... not as much rain as they're getting, but far more than we're used to (and enough to overfill our dried up, drought worn lakes and flood our creeks). It's the middle of summer. Usually it's bushfire season. We've been lucky. We usually recieve the worst bushfires where we are, but with all the rain, there's been no fires. I'm a bit miffed that it's doing this over the summer break, especially since I originally had plans for the summer, but... we did need the rain though considering we've been in drought conditions for years.
Bad news for the farmers though. They've been through the drought, taking mortgages on their homes, taking loans, spending all their money during the harsh times, and this rain was supposed to be a godsend to pay off all their woes. Instead, now the floods have ravaged their fields where the drought was beforehand, all crops are ruined, etc and they're still in debt.
